FraC - Fragments of Comedy

From February 13 2023 a new special project can be found in Manus Online: FraC: Fragments of Comedy.

The project aims at cataloguing all manuscript fragments related to the direct tradition of Dante’s Comedy dating back to XIV and XV centuries, and at publishing online their high-res digitized reproductions via IIIF.

The project uses the Manus Online platform for the description of these fragments.

The digital archive of FraC, along with the corresponding metadata resulting from eye-witnessed examinations carried out by the research group (University of Naples Federico II; Scuola Superiore Meridionale; University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli"; University of Italian Switzerland) will be added to the Illuminated Dante Project’s digital archive (274 items) and made interoperable through the XML-TEI format and the IIIF visualisation protocol.
