The Planettiana city library of Jesi (Ancona) has started the description of the collection Avvisi e Gazzette, a group of volumes pertaining XVII and XVIII centuries.

In the light of the enhancement and preservation of its bibliographic heritage, the Planettiana city library of Jesi (Ancona) has started the description of the collection Avvisi e Gazzette, a group of volumes pertaining XVII and XVIII centuries.

The collection is made up of 45 volumes, bound in parchment and containing both manuscript and printed documents, written or published from 1655 up to 1733.

Because of the particularity of this collection and the unorganised nature of these manuscripts, that are quite voluminous and put together in a late period, it was decided to describe them as organised composite manuscripts.

On occasion of the preparation of the thesis of the colleague Mary Petrini, a librarian working at the Planettiana Library and in the context of the Master Fo.Lia – Catalogazione dei Fondi librari antichi enhanced by the University of Bologna with the support of the ICCU Manuscript Area, a prototypical description based on the MOL description form has been used, so as to properly enter the description elements in Manus Onlin.
