The manuscript collection "Luigi La Vista", preserved in the University Library of Naples, in Manus Online.

SamplesThe manuscripts of the collection named “Fondo Luigi La Vista” have been preserved in the University Library of Naples since 1871; they have been described in Manus Online and are now available to users.

The collection is made up of precious documents belonging to the young patriot Luigi La Vista, who fought and died in 1848 during the Neapolitan revolts, and many of them were written by La Vista himself.

These manuscripts collect his considerations of historical and historiographical nature, literary critic and aesthetics, as well as thoughts of existential nature: Vista proves to be  modern both in his thoughts and language and shows to be engaged in the moral and civil renewal of the society of his own time as well.

Cataloguing and study activities have been carried out by the librarian Maria Cristina De Crescenzo, with the technical co-operation of Sara Serpa.
