The manuscripts preserved in the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano described in Manus Online

In December 2020, the ‘Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano’ cataloguing project kicks off in Manus Online. The project relates  to the Library manuscripts collection, together with the musical manuscripts preserved in the related section of the adjoining  Archive.

The Veneranda Fabbrica is the historic institution responsible for the Milan Duomo conservation and enhancement. Established in 1387, it has been working for over 630 years for  the protection and promotion ofe the Cathedral. The Archive and the Library preserve  the documentary and book heritage produced and collected by the institution during its centuries-old history, carrying out its duty.

The cataloguing project of its whole  manuscript book heritage, both medieval and modern, represents an opportunity of extraordinary importance to deepen the knowledge of such a precious patrimony and thus for its sharing and enhancement.

The project is coordinated by Soprintendenza Archivistica e Bibliografica della Lombardia, with the scientific support of the University eCampus.
